Use your phone, your way

Hands-on training for people who are blind or visually impaired. We teach the tools built for you, so a smartphone becomes a way to be independent, safe and connected.

A person with a white cane uses a phone and braille display while an instructor points and smiles, in front of an open-eye symbol.

Who it is for

People who are blind or visually impaired and want to get more from a smartphone, a computer or the apps they use every day.

Many modern tools are not designed with accessibility in mind, and that creates barriers that should not be there. Open Eyes teaches people to use the devices and software that are built to support their needs.

What sessions cover

  • Smartphone accessibility, including VoiceOver and TalkBack
  • Screen readers and navigation tools
  • Accessible apps for communication, transportation and daily living
  • Digital safety and scam awareness
